MISSION JENATZY (4'35")

Students of the Mechanical Vocational High School Class at Camille Jenatzy High School in Paris 18th with Céleste Rogosin.

Can humor be used to create a sense of detachment from a subject? How can documentary aesthetics serve a purpose? Drawing inspiration from social media, we studied and adopted the codes of short-format documentary reports to create a "docu-fiction." In this film, everything is true, except what isn't. Our high school has become a space center where extensive research is conducted on a planet discovered in 2023. We traversed our neighborhood like researchers exploring a new territory, while documenting our exploration as journalistic reporters would. The fictional narrative we constructed allows us to share our perspective on the neighborhood surrounding the school, located at Porte d'Aubervilliers, and on the gentrification of this fragmented area.
