Oculometry (French: Oculométrie \ɔ.ky.lɔ.me.tʁi\ - feminine noun):
Is the term used to describe the set of techniques for recording and analyzing eye movements. Also known as "eye tracking," this technique is widely used in the field of marketing to assess commercial and promotional effectiveness by understanding the eye behavior of consumers (dwell time, reading direction, number of glances, etc.).
During the workshop, we become aware that each of our online connections allows data to be collected that defines a "user profile."
Thus, we are guided in our navigation, invited to consume, conditioned by the mechanism of our gaze. Experimenting with eye-tracking allows us to visualize this process. In our work environment, we make visible our visual trajectories on different scales. We materialize them through luminous choreographies inside the logistics workshop, capturing the repetition of our actions.
Collectively, in the schoolyard, we construct an installation of our aggregated focal paths. This accumulation symbolizes the control of this device over our gazes. Together, we traverse it to free ourselves from its influence.
