S'EMPARER DES MURS

MURMURES

Students of Grade 8/3 and Grade 8/5 (SEGPA) at Édouard Pailleron Middle School in Paris 19th with Louise Mutrel.

How can one appropriate a space through imagery? Inspired by iconic staged photography and cinema images, we deciphered their setups and codes to replay them in everyday scenes.

We compose these images in the form of posters printed using risography*, which are then displayed as wild-posting on the walls of our neighbourhood. The staging continues through graphic and performative action. Now, we are acting and visible: a catalyst for encounters with residents and a fresh way of looking at our environment.

*Risography is a technique that lies between digital printing and screen printing. It involves an eco-friendly and cost-effective stencil printing process. The final results resemble lithography or screen printing, with a handmade appearance and vibrant, luminous colors.
