ECHAUFFEMENTS

ÉCHAUFFEMENTS

Year 11 students from the Galilée High School in Gennevilliers (92) with Pauline Pastry.

How can we become aware of stereotypical representations of bodies when they are integrated from a very young age and social networks and the media widely disseminate them? How can we create the conditions to deconstruct them? These are the questions that gave rise to our film Echauffements. We wanted to show a few moments of our PE sessions, when the class exercises, when we cooperate or when we compete on the field. We also collected still lifes, the silent backdrop of these training sessions. In these images, we wanted to make our lively debates and our heated minds heard when we discussed the representations of bodies and athletes.

Film made with Year 11 students of the Lycée Galilée, Genevilliers (92): Ibrahim, Fatima-Zahra, Nouah, Rayss, Mohammed, Laly, Amadou Baïlo, Nasreddine, Amine, Rayan, Adam, Zeinab, Ibtissem, Lina, Camélia, Nour, Soihiha, Samy El Qassim, Assya, Amira, Neïla, Nohan, Adem, Mélissa, Nérimène, Sarah, Minda, Abdourrahmane, Rafin, Yasser, and Jérémy Lesgourgues and PE teacher and Meryem Berrim, English teacher.
